Frame Church

Pennsylvania was founded by Quakers seeking religious freedom. The state became a haven for those fleeing oppression and many sects and

denominations established roots here. While some of the early churches are large impressive structures of stone or brick, many humbler structures of log or frame construction served small congregations. Often the beliefs of the group are mirrored by the architecture. Some have separate doors for men and women, others have elaborate steeples while some have no ornamentation at all. This version is a typical mid-19th Century meeting house. The trim around the windows and door show Victorian influences but the structure and the bell tower are very modest in design. It measures 5"x3"x5". Price: $35.
